Services to Emergency Service

With the term ‘Major Incident’ now a phrase very much in the public consciousness, the Emergency Service sector not only have to respond to more call-outs than ever before, first-responders have also had to adapt and change from their traditional roles and activities, since events post-March 2020.

In London alone, London Fire Brigade have volunteered to assist London Ambulance Service, as a direct result, firefighters have responded to in excess of 100,000 incidents whilst driving ambulances.

This adaption of activity means that key decision makers must manage the traditional risks around first responders service delivery that were always present, but decision makers must now adapt their own thinking, when managing the traditional risks they were managing before Covid struck; and these new risks that have been created by the resulting adaption to service provision.

Some of the risks that key Emergency Service decision makers must tackle are not limited to the following:

  • Covid-19
  • Operational risk
  • IT risk
  • Cyber risk
  • Employers liability
  • Governance & Compliance
  • Failure to Attract/Retain Talent
